ADOPTED 12-31-11 – When one works with animal (dog) rescue you learn to focus on what you can do to change an animal’s future for the better, knowing there is nothing we can do to change what they have been through. Thankfully this focus on the animal’s future allows us to experience the wonderful depths of forgiveness and endless love within each abused animal. In the case of Zeus (a lab/? Mix) only god’s hand could have allowed him to bless our lives. He came to us malnourished, broken and to add insult to injury, he possessed a head the size of a basket ball from a snake bite. Today Zeus is a healthy and beautiful bundle of love, happy in life, playing contently with the other rescues, trying so hard to be perfect. In my estimation, as a trainer, this young man has by far exceeded all expectations. Zeus weighs in at a muscular 80 pounds, this he carries with extreme grace, allowing his beautiful sleek coat to shine in the sun as he walks masterfully across the yard. If this dog has a flaw!

It is in the fact that he lost a lower canine and has a slightly deformed lower lip due to the snake bite; personally I think it just adds to his character. Zeus is great as a companion, focusing on you and your needs above all else. He has shown no aggression and plays wonderfully with all the other dogs in my care. We have checked him extensively with children; he loves their presence, adores them for their attention and is very gentle with them at all times. Zeus is absolutely phenomenal on a leash, reveling in your presence with him. He is also fully house trained and can be, left with the run of the house. If you are looking for a friend that will always be there for you then you really should look into applying Zeus.
