ADOPTED 12-31-11 – Our group rescued 24 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers from a very bad situation in south Mississippi where they had been extremely neglected. Let me back up just one second, we rescued 23 duck Toller’s and one impersonator, a cute little guy named Fast Eddie. Fast Eddie appears to be a mix between a Duck Toller and a wire haired Jack Russell, whatever the case f-Eddie is Mr. Personality, full of charm and is just plain cute. This guy has become one of our favorites over time, constantly curious of what we are doing, i am sure that he is passing judgment. When let out to play he is the groups cheerleader making sure all are involved and that everyone is evenly petted. Fast Eddie tolerates being sat on in the yard pool but will move everyone out if they misbehave by his standards. For those who have followed our journey with these “Ducks ” you will be aware of our resident trainer, “spoil em rotten”, well Fast Eddie is one of hers. We have tried diligently to train this dog but I am pretty sure we are the ones who have received an education. Having said all of this the ” Ed ” is a true joy to be around, loving, gregarious, smart, playful, conceited, a true conundrum if one ever existed.

RED AND WHITE, MALE NEUTERED , HEART WORM TREATED,
FULLY VETTED, LEASH TRAINED, GOOD WITH PEOPLE, KIDS
AND OTHER DOGS, BASIC COMMANDS

Fast Eddie can be a little aloof early but comes back fast, i think he does it just to confuse me. If this guy wore a hat it would be Stetson, if he wore shoes he would wear converse all-stars high tops and if he smoked it would be a stogie. Bottom line you can’t help but fall in in love with this character, he is a nonstop entertainer, maybe a dog version of Frank Sinatra. If you love characters, if you love spirit, if you love the unique and you love being loved then give Fast Eddie a call, he will indulge you.

ALL DOGS ARE MICROCHIPED

Our dogs deserve all that a committed family can offer. Make no mistake about it, this is one spectacular dog. THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING RESCUE AS A MEANS OF WELCOMING YOUR NEXT FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND INTO YOUR LIFE!

PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO CHECK OUT THE SECTION BELOW

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
