ADOPTED DOWN SOUTH 06-25-12 – Precious will be happy anywhere she goes where she is loved and given attention. She is very gentle with kids. Her foster mom babysits and all of the kids love her because she is very gentle and does not jump up on the little ones. On Feb 12th a very sweet momma dog was dumped at the at a very high kill pound in Louisiana with her 5, 1 week old pups. The shelter has no room for nursing moms and the little family was to be euthanized. Thanks to the PAWS of NE LA rescue program they were saved and didn’t even have to spend 1 night at the pound. This little family has been thriving in foster care ever since are now looking for loving northern homes through our partnership with Rescue Dog Village Guardian, Inc.. .
Precious is a 1 year old, 15# Rat Terrier mix who has been an excellent mother to her puppies. Since she is so young, we feel like it was likely her first litter. She is loving but also playful with her pups and is an all around great girl! Precious’ puppies were weaned at 6 weeks of age (but are still getting lots of socialization from mom and the other dogs in their foster home) and she was spayed on March 13th. She is negative for heartworm and on prevention and is fully vaccinated. Precious is housetrained and also does well in a crate. She is wonderful with other dogs and is a happy, social little dog. She is a bit unsure of the camera (and her only photos thus far were taken at the shelter and at the vet) but we can assure you she is MUCH more adorable in person! Her tail is always wagging and she loves being held. This momma dog is ready for some one on one time with a special family and she certainly deserves it. 🙂 .
