ADOPTED 12-03-11 – Kyle is an 8-10 week old mix breed pup who is absolutely adorable. He reminds us of a black and white Saint Bernard. He is a puff ball with soft fur and beautiful eyes. He was dropped off at the shelter with his sisters, Jess, Lizzie and Evelyn. He is a very happy affectionate boy who loves to play and do all the things puppies do so he will need lots of guidance and plenty of toys and things to chew. He still has puppy breath and loves to give kisses. He would love a family that will take him on lots of walks and maybe even have a kid or two to help rise. He will need a home where someone is home most of the time, he would love another doggy sibling to pal around with or perhaps a family that would take him places where he could play with other dogs.

The shelter is no place for babies like Kyle, luckily RDV works with PAWS to find homes for dogs like Kyle and his sisters so we are currently staying at a foster homes in Louisiana until our forever families find us. If you think Kyle is the right dog for your family hurry up and apply!

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
