ADOPTED ON 12-06-14 – All of the animals that we rescue have harsh to horrible stories and before long you tend to concentrate on the dogs future and put the past out of your mind. This works most of the time but occasionally you run into that perfect dog, a dog so rare and talented that you cannot get your head around the fact that a human does exist that could actually harm and torture this wonderful gift from god. Though I could never forgive the low life that harmed our boy general ace I am sure that this special creature with the all-loving heart will find a way, I am truly humbled by this young man. General ace is an extremely handsome German shepherd with a large frame, a sable coat and is about 3 years old. I believe that “ace” will probably top out at about 90-100 pounds, though at this point he is a little too malnourished to make an accurate call. Anyone who is around the general is simply amazed at his openness, the depth of his love, his affection for all things human or canine and above all else his sweet and gentle demeanor.
SABLE***NEUTERED***FULLY VETTED***GREAT DOG WITHOUT EXCEPTION***GREAT WITH PEOPLE***GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS. ***LEASH, HOUSE AND BASIC COMMAND TRAINED
Getting to know this dog has been a journey of enlightenment, realizing that there really is something that exist that is absolutely pure. I know I must sound odd in the way I marvel at the general but you will understand when you hear his story. Our boy was literally pulled from the doorstep of death; he had been intentionally abandoned to starve to death in a metal cage. It appeared that general had put up quite an effort to survive by trying to demolish the pen; the previous “owner” apparently took exception to this effort and physically knocked out his 4 canine teeth. Though I am sure that I would visit major harm on the sorry excuse of humanity that harmed this poor creature, I find peace in the fact that I have had the wonderful experience of helping such a deserving sole as “general ace”. Of course the “ace” has been successful in completing all of his socialization and training programs though at times I wondered who was the student and who was the teacher.
