ADOPTED 11-03-12 – Dazee came to our rescue after being removed from a situation of total neglect, a situation where she had been deprived of attention, love, freedom and food. This beautiful girl is a German shepherd, approximately 60 pounds (will attain at least 70 pounds), classic black and tan in color and 3-4 years of age. We had to take our time with Dazee teaching her how to play, how to interact with people, how to interact with other dogs, how to love and above all else how to be happy. To date this wonderful canine has risen to the occasion, succeeding against all odds. Though Dazee can still be over whelmed on occasion she has shown the ability to recover quickly, and always in a safe and positive manner. Our girl is good with both people and other dogs but she will take her time with strangers of either until she feels she can trust them. During our time with Dazee we have found her to be gentle, loving, friendly, approachable, intelligent, and strong character and capable. The optimum place for a special girl like Dazee would be a home that is somewhat reserved and calm, that will allow her to have some space when needed and a family that would provide the nurturing, gentle love that she so much desires. Make no mistake, when Dazee becomes comfortable with you, she is an absolute love sponge with a great sense of humor and a touch of impishness.

Dazee has passed all of our socialization and training programs and in our estimation she is ready to make someone a wonderful companion. Our girl also has full command of the leash, is house trained and is capable with her basic commands. As can be inferred by our biography of Dazee, it is obvious that she is quite special to all of us who have worked with her and because of this bond we are determined to find the absolute perfect home for our baby!

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
