WE HAVE A VIDEO OF TESS SO YOU CAN SEE HOW SWEET SHE IS:  VIDEO#1 ♥  VIDEO #2

This little lady is playful and enjoys a good romp in the yard but she’ll also sit at your feet calmly in the house. She’s fun, confident and will fit right in. If you like taking walks with a companion and having a dog that will actually play with you, she’s your gal. She does need your attention and you must give her a structured, predictable schedule so she knows when you’ll be home for her.

ABOUT THE BREED: Yellow Labs are healthy dogs and generally will live long lives of 10 to 14 years and are one of the most popular breeds in the USA because they are loyal, loving, affectionate and patient, making great family dogs. Yellow labs are highly intelligent, good-natured, very willing and eager to please; they are among the top choices for service dog work. They love to play, especially in water, never wanting to pass up the opportunity for a good swim.

These lively dogs have an excellent, reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable with other dogs. They crave human leadership and need to feel as though they are part of the family. Labs are easily trained. Some may be reserved with strangers unless very well socialized, preferably while they are still puppies. These dogs are watchdogs, not guard dogs, although some have been known to guard.

Labrador Retrievers have been within the top five most popular dog breeds for the last few decades, thanks to the fact that they make such incredible family pets. This is especially true for Yellow Labradors.  Yellow Labs possess all of the celebrated traits of a family dog. This breed of dog is wonderful with people of all ages, interact well with children. Active and fun, they’re easily trained. They make great therapy dogs, service dogs, search-and-rescue dogs, and seeing-eye dogs.

Labs are happier when they are at play. Active and playful, love to be walked every day, but if this does not fit into your schedule, try to play as often as you can. They love a game of fetch to release pent-up energy. If you have the resources, consider swimming as a good option, who famously loves the water.

This darling is in excellent health, spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and ready for her FUR-ever home.  Won’t you please say yes to these loving eyes today?

PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO CHECK OUT THE SECTION BELOW

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
