ADOPTED ON 09-27-14 – Not that long ago we rescued a German shepherd that we affectionately named Odie (he was quite odoriferous), we were sure that no other dog could ever smell this bad, well we were wrong we now have in our possession ” Teddy”. My partner and I retrieved Teddy from a severe situation, he was matted, he was malnourished he was parasite infested, he was frightened and above all else he smelled awful. Once we had Teddy in the truck he seemed to know all was well and proceeded to become quite loving, it was at this point that my partner (female) decided that Mr. Teddy and I needed to ride in the back of the truck for over 100 miles. It was during this ride that I fell totally in love with “Mr. stinky”, my partner however was not part of the Teddy cheerleading squad until our boy had been shampooed twice and fulminated.

LONG FLOWING SILVER SHEPHERD COAT***NEUTERED***FULLY VETTED
GREAT WITH CHILDREN***GREAT WITH ADULTS*** GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS
LEASH, HOUSE AND BASIC COMMAND TRAINED

All gist aside we have all been amazed at how quickly our boy became a great dog. Teddy is without a doubt a great representative of the breed, loyal, friendly, gentle, intelligent, playful, and loving and as always a strong protective instinct that is always in control. This young man is about 100 pounds, about 3 years of age, has a long flowing silver shepherd coat and is extremely people oriented. We have found Teddy to be very good with children, adults, and other dogs and confident in crowds. Mr. Teddy has passed all of our training and socialization programs leaving him competent in leash walking, basic commands and house manners. What I can tell above all else about this boy is that he is extremely intuitive and I am sure that with those eyes he can see your soul, fooling this dog is not possible. Teddy wants nothing more out of this life than to be with you, love you and protect you. Oh, bye the way Teddy smells great now!

PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO CHECK OUT THE SECTION BELOW

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
