ADOPTION PENDING: As anyone that does rescue work for animals will tell you the work is a real emotional roller coaster, ranging from extreme joy to absolute rage. The dog (Stanley) in this biography has taken our rescue and me in particular through this entire experience. Stanley was rescued after having experienced intolerable conditions and surviving unbearable treatment. On intake this guy had to endure surgery to remove an embedded chain collar, treatment for various skin conditions, treatment for multiple parasites including heartworms, treatment for ear infections, treatment for eye infections, corrective measures for malnutrition and overall socialization. During this period if I could have found the culprit I would not have been able to control myself, then something magical happened.

The most loving, gentle and pure dog emerged, this wonderful creature was none other than the amazing Stanley. I would like to say I was responsible for this transformation but in reality this was diving intervention. As a trainer I do not have the ability to create an outcome such as Stanley, a creature that brought happiness back into my life.

LABADOR RETRIEVER          FULLY VETTED             GREAT WITH DOGS, ADULTS AND CHILDREN
GREAT ON A LEASH             BASIC COMMANDS                NEUTERED

Stanley is a 3 to 5 year old male black lab that is without a doubt the gentlest dog I have ever met. This guy can read you like a book and be three steps ahead of you at all times, all too just please you. All this special guy needs is your loving touch, your open heart and a way to be close to you. Unconditional love is truly defined by Stanley, a dog that had every reason to never trust a human again. He is great with other dogs, loves children and cats ………well maybe not ” loves ” cats, tolerate may be a better term. The bottom line here is that if think you can qualify for Stanley, please apply, and remember though he requires only the best in his future.

PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO CHECK OUT THE SECTION BELOW

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
