Our vet has recommended that all dogs under 6 months not to spay or neuter the pups because they are too young and their bodies are not fully developed. Adoption donation includes transport and all vaccinations, except for the Lyme—therefore, the dogs will not need to get any vaccinations for the first

Every once in a great while we get to work with families that love their pets and want the best for them. This is a rare treat that we enjoy, as usually the situations we work with are cases of neglect or abuse. But on those rare occasions, we are happy to help when someone asks us to place puppies. We know that “accidents happen”, and the well-meaning pet owner had planned to spay or neuter, and we appreciate so much that they come to us instead of dumping the unwanted puppies on a back road, which happens too often.
So is the case for Rocky and his siblings. Happily, they have only known love, but are in search of a home to call their own just the same. Rocky is a handsome Catahoula/Bluetick Hound mix, and is about 5 months old. He is about 15 pounds now, but he is a big boy-much bigger than his sisters-and he does love his food, so we expect him to be a good size dog!
Rocky is super sweet and loves attention. Like most puppies, he loves everybody and everything, including children, but we still always stress that children and dogs should never be left unsupervised. Foster mom says that Rocky is also an adventure seeker, must always be first, and wants to be the boss. He would be a great addition to a family with active children!
ROCKY AND LITTERMATES HAVING FUN
All dogs, like humans, have certain traits, however, it is important to know that dogs and humans, regardless of the breed or ethnic group, are all social family oriented and their characteristics are only one of their many awesome qualities.
When choosing a pet for your family, the potential breed is important to research so that you find your perfect fit as well as the dogs. The Catahoula Leopard Dog are playful at home and a multi-purpose working dog that is well-muscled and powerful with a sense of endurance. They are a medium-large, short-coated dog, known for its many varied coat and eye colors and patterns. Catahoula’s are the only breed of dog to have historically originated in the state of Louisiana. They know their place in the family unit, they are affectionate, loyal, and gentle. Also called the Catahoula Hog Dog, they are often used as watchdogs, guard dogs, and of course as loyal companions. The Catahoula pairs nicely with the sleekly beautiful Bluetick Coonhound.
The Bluetick hound has a sweet-tempered, active and an affectionate charmer who might enjoy snoozing in the shade. They are a native to the United States that sports a trademark ticked pattern on its short, smooth coat. These dogs generally have a friendly, sweet, and loyal disposition. They are used both for hunting and companionship. Above all, this breed belongs in an active home where there is plenty of access to explore the outdoors. The droopy-eared charm of Blueticks is irresistible. They crave affection and are deeply devoted to those who provide it.
Bluetick tend to have a very affectionate temperament with their owners. They also can get along well with other dogs. As high-energy dogs, they need lots of exercise every day their hardwired impulses can develop serenading the neighbors with loud, mournful ‘music’, so an active family is best!
Take a deep, if you have never owned a hound, dive into the hound dog breed world with Rocky and discover the behavior and personality that makes him such a beloved family member—this breed has got it all and one of the most popular breeds in the USA
Rocky is a delight and will make a wonderful companion for a family looking to offer him a loving home. He has had a great start, and knows nothing but good from humans, and we hope this continues for this deserving little boy!
WE HAVE FOUR DOGS THAT NEED HEARTWORM TREATMENT DARBY**SHELLY**MARSHA**MONA
Many rescues pass over rescuing dogs that are Heartworm positive because of the expense. RDVG find it very difficult to choose which dogs to rescue when they are HW Positive. We are committed to help as many as we can and for every HW positive dog that is adopted, we vow to rescue one in its place.
We are asking for help for any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Darby, Shelly, Marsha & Mona need to find a home and get the love that they give to their southern foster, Patricia and her family.
PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TOWARDS THEIR HEARTWORM TREATMENT.
