LUEY AD 01-12-14

ADOPTED 01-12-14 – Luey is a little ball of energy and personality. He is a player and loves to be cuddled. He gives you his full attention when you are in the kitchen cooking and he knows with that cute little face that he will get your full attention.

Luey and his two brothers, Duey and Huey, were caught in a live trap set by animal control.  The strange thing is that all 3 adult dogs were in the same trap!  In addition, all three dogs were very timid in the city pens.  They were captured on Tuesday 11/19 and we were unable to touch them for several days, because they were so fearful.  Seems that someone whom they knew would had to put them in the trap intentionally.

Luey’s first day was very hard for him

Luey has moved passed hard times & plays with his foster family.

Loue is doing well now

Luey is a normal happy dog thanks to the hard work done by his fosters.

Luey were afraid of everything!  It was so severe that I gave them several days to settle in the City pens.  They had obviously never been on leash before Saturday, and were walked by children on Sunday.  They want to trust, and are very smart.  This is a smart pup that should be able to adjust to almost anything.  This is a sweet little dog, who likes attention.

Luey would enjoy being around other dogs, for sure. A home with lots of attention, including children, would also be great! This dignified sweet boy is laid back, loves a good meal, a romp in the yard, a soft bed and a warm lap. He would enjoy having her head pat and will enjoy squeaky toys and happily runs and play with his foster siblings. He is happy with a human by his side and will make someone out there a great friend. In return, he promises years of devotion and unconditional love.

Sponsored Dogs – They Need Your Help!

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
