ADOPTED 05-06-12 – Layla is a beautiful, snow white, female, 1-2 year old, German shepherd dog rescued by our group from a high kill shelter in lower Alabama. This wonderful girl had been abandoned and left on her own but her strength of will allowed her to survive a horrible existence. Since coming into our rescue Layla has thrived, embracing her new life with true gusto. She has passed all of our training with speed and has excelled in all aspects. This girl is the very definition of the breed, loyal without boundaries, extremely intelligent, limitlessly loving, gentle in her approach to all people (especially children), a strong protective instinct that is always under control, in other words a German shepherd. Layla is regal in all her mannerisms, how she carries herself, how she interacts with others (human or canine), a demeanor that defines her superior character.

Layla interacts well with other dogs, individually or in groups, always playful and open. She also is trained on the leash, is house broken and has a firm command of her basic commands. A family environment would probably be perfect for this girl; she is comfortable playing, lying around being scratched, hiking, snoozing around the pool or just enjoying her job of family protector. Layla is a very special find, so if you are interested I would encourage you to apply immediately, she will not be around long!
