ADOPTED 02-18-12 – Jason is an absolutely breath taking male German shepherd dog (mix – Belgian shepherd) of approximately 6-12 months in age. This guy came to us from a high kill shelter in north Florida where he had been abandoned. Luckily Jason had not been severely abused and was reasonably well nourished, allowing us to move forward with his training and rehab quite quickly. Jason has responded well to all training and socialization efforts, excelling in most cases. He has learned to play well with other dogs and is totally enamored with children, always gentle and loving. Jason is best described as a loving clown, wanting nothing more than your attention and affection. Though playful this dog has no problems sitting quietly at your feet awaiting your acknowledgement. Make no mistake, Jason has all the German shepherd characteristics of loyalty, commitment and a strong protective instinct, a trait he always has under control.

In our training environment Jason plays comfortably with up to 8 dogs at a time with absolutely no problems. He also thinks that the children of our volunteers are his personal responsibility to entertain, a task in which he absolutely revels. Jason is house trained; leash trained and has full comprehension of the basic commands. At his full size this boy will probably top out at about 65 pounds on a stocky compact frame. Jason will make a fine addition to any lucky family!
