ADOPTED ON 03-04-17 – Our rescue is absolutely pleased to announce the availability for adoption, the beautiful, 1 year old, black, male, German shepherd by the name of “Hondo”. This young man is everything that you could possibly wish that a German shepherd would be, gentle, loving, extremely smart, strong character, great demeanor, perfect symmetry, perfect gait and of course a strong but in control protective instinct. When we rescued Hondo he was very scared with no understanding of trust, it appears that he was isolated his entire life with little or no contact with humans or other dogs.

As one would expect of the great German shepherd breed, Hondo rose above his weakness, used it as a centering stone and moved on into his future with determination and great fervor. Hondo is now very good with children, other dogs and adults, something I really admire since I would much rather be with my dogs than most people. Our boy simply blew the doors off our training and socialization programs, proving strong human attraction, high trainability, strong social skills and strong bond. When fully grown Hondo should approach 75-85 pounds and have a lush, long hair, coal black coat.

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions.
