ADOPTED 03-01-13 – Our rescue is proud to present for adoption a very special and quite unique registered male German shepherd named hero. This wonderful guy has been with our rescue for about nine months, always working hard to overcome his past of abuse and neglect. Hero is just that, a real hero, never once did he give up, instead he drew strength from what he had survived, head high and regal! Our personnel have all been amazed at hero’s depth and conviction, I can truly say that he has cast a standard that has been an inspiration to us all. As stated earlier hero is a registered male German shepherd, he is also 75 pounds, 4 years old and has an absolutely gorgeous sable coat. Our boy is a walking definition of the breed, strong, gentle, intelligent, loving, intense bond and a strong but controlled protective instinct.

Hero is great with other dogs, getting along well in groups and individually but makes no mistake he will not be dominated. This guy is fabulous with people of all sizes and ages, singularly or in groups, though he has a real affinity for children. Watching hero interact with kids is just amazing; he can put them at ease instantly and project a gentleness that is a wonder to watch. This shepherd has graduated all of our socialization and training programs, proficient in his basic commands, has full command of the leash, is obviously house trained and is very comfortable in the car. If one thing can define our boy it is that he wants only one thing out of life, a person to wrap his life around. This is not an idle statement; I can assure you that hero will bond with “his” person to a level that is beyond description in a most positive way.
