ADOPTED 04-01-12 – I love my name Farrah, I know that a gorgeous movie star had that name and it makes me feel beautiful when I hear someone call me. My rescuer said
that when she saw me, she felt that I was a striking female and she gave me that name so that anyone who said it, had images of beauty in their mind.

I’m a German Shepherd Mix – approx. 8 mos. old and 25 lbs. of energy!  I am spayed-but that doesn’t slow ME down!  I LOVE to run and play and my ideal forever home will have another playmate or children for me. I’m very social and you will love keeping up with me.  I have lots and lots of fun here in my foster home; a fenced in yard would help, but not necessary; I love to run and run and run!  I don’t mind the crate – but only for short periods of time – I’m a Shepherd – I’ve got places to go, people to see, smells to smell!

These nice people that rescued me, took lots of  videos so you can see just how sweet I am:

PLAYING WITH CHILDREN #5 ♥♥DOG  PARK  FRIEND MYLA #6 ♥♥FARRAH RECALL #7

NEW FRIENDS AT THE PARK #8♥♥GETTING BRUSHED #9
PARK PLAYMATE QUINCEY #10 ♥♥PARK PLYAMATES SOCIAL FARRAH #11

I love being on the go and challenged because I am so smart! Chew toys are great because I am still very young.  I also LOVE kids – an active home – ideally with other energetic playmates and kids would be nice because I can handle it.  I am very excited because I am out of the shelter and so happy; I am a pup and my life is just beginning. Like the shepherd breed, I am brave and smart and that shelter was just such a sad place.  I don’t know how I feel about the feline species – I haven’t been officially introduced as of yet!

Despite being found wandering the streets by animal control –see the intelligence in MY brown eyes. I know that I don’t have to worry about my food – I LOVE it!!  I can be very motivated for food! Not to brag but I don’t get carsick either…..   That’s all I can think of right now – so if you think you would be a good match for me; don’t hesitate!  I will be the most loyal best friend you’ve ever had!  And I promise your life won’t be boring with ME in it!

PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO CHECK OUT THE SECTION BELOW

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
