ADOPTED 11-19-11 – Daphne came into our rescue tired, scared, hungry and depressed, having been abandoned on the streets and ending up in a high kill shelter. When we found this girl, a beautiful Labrador retriever, we knew she had to be rescued due the wonderful glow of life that still lived in her eyes. As with all of our rescues we take whatever time is required to evaluate, socialize and make healthy, these wonderful canines. In the case of this 1 1/2 year old female who is chocolate in color, this process has been an absolute joy. Daphne has turned into an almost perfect specimen of the Labrador retriever breed, muscular but sleek, playful but reserved, smart but funny, devoted, strong guardian instinct but always under control, adores all children and has great shiny dark brown coat.

Daphne lives for the water and rough housing with children, though always in control and extremely gentle. She is great on a leash and has never met stranger, dogs, humans, it does not matter. This young lady has full knowledge of all basic commands and is fully house trained. Daphne is ready to be the companion that you have always wanted for your family and yourself.
