ADOPTED – 01-21-12 – Christina came into a high kill shelter in Louisiana as a stray. After her 7 day hold, no owners came forward to claim her and with a cherry eye, Christina’s chances at adoption were slim. Thanks to PAWS of NE LA, a southern group who works with the local pound and northern rescue groups, Christina was saved and is now looking for a loving home up north! Christina is 22#, 1 year old and is a Cocker Spaniel with a tail.
She is spayed, current on vaccinations, negative for heartworm and intestinal worms and on monthly prevention. Her cherry eye was repaired when she was under anesthesia to be spayed.
Here is a link that explains the condition, it is actually a fairly common with dogs – http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cherry_eye.html
Christina is a happy girl who recently walked in a Christmas parade and had fun meeting lots of new dogs and people. She is great for the groomer and tolerates the sweaters and bows her foster mom puts on her! 🙂 She walks well on leash, is crate trained, potty trained, great in the car and gets along with other dogs and cats. She does seem to prefer the company of other small dogs.
