ALLIE#1 AD 05-25-13

ADOPTED 05-25-13 – Allie is a happy-spirited, wiggly affectionate girl who greets everyone with a mischievous smile. She has been around children and is gentle with them, but does enjoy licking their faces to clean up any food residue. For this reason, a home with children 5 and up might be the best for her.

ALLIE’s gets along with her siblings and children. Allie is very reserved and very much a lady. Like her brothers and sisters, her story could have gone either way, except for the kindness of an elderly lady in the south who opened her heart to help. She had a stray come to her house and have 9 pups on her property but was unable to care for them. She asked a friend if he knew anyone who could help. He happened to have a daughter that was a vet tech and an angel; she has been taking care of the pups ever since. She contacted Rescue Dog Village Guardian, Inc. to help find these sweet pups a loving home. Her care has made sure that the pups are in great shape.

Allie hasn’t been out in the world much lately, but is enthusiastic and curious about exploring new places. Although Allie has had no formal training, she pays attention and learns quickly. She does tend to obey at her own discretion, and will try to distract you by rolling over for a belly rub instead of complying – it should be easy to teach her that command! Puppies are trained to do that from birth.

Leash walking is not one of her better skills, but she wants to please, so with some structured consistent training she will learn quickly. Did we mention she is mischievous? And smart? So she went down, rolled over, hooked her paw through it, and promptly pulled it off. Then she looked up at us with a broad grin, as if to say, “How was that for a trick?”

ALLIE is a loving, and playful pup, she is sociable with humans and she likes attention. She is a sweet delicate lady that loves with her whole heart because she has a loving personality.  Like all young dogs, she will need exercise which is a key to a satisfied dog. If you are looking for a walking or running friend, she is sure to oblige. Allie will repay you with a lifetime of devotion! She is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative, and ready to go home!

Sponsored Dogs – They Need Your Help!

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
