Our German shepherd rescue is pleased to announce the graduation of one of our wards from her socialization and training programs, Ms. Bellah graduated with flying colors! This girl came to us, as most do, in very bad shape but she is a survivor and choose not only survive but thrive. That is what pulls me to these dogs, they, if given a fighting chance, will not quit if you do not quit on them.

Bellah is quite a young lady, loving, open, happy and caring, with large zest for life. Working with Bellah is a true joy, loves to train, loves to play, always happy, but make no mistake she is aware of everything all the time. This girl is the definition of a family dog, bonds strongly, always there (Velcro), travels well, accepts people well and has very good protection control.

Bellah is great children, adults, other dogs and is always aware. Our girl is 3 years old, 75-85 pounds, classic black and tan, well trained and a true joy to be around. As Bellah’s trainer I can tell you that she is quite special, mature above her years, off the charts intelligent and is limited only by her trainer’s capability. This girl will fit well in any family environment that is happy, loving, committed and is not time constrained.

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
