ADOPTED ON 03-17-23  Saving, rehabilitation and training is the drive behind our German shepherd rescue but occasionally we bump into that special creature that by all standards should not survive and then god steps in. This “chosen” one is a tiny, one year old, girl that has never looked back, never doubted herself and believes she owns the world, her name is gracious Gretta. Now healthy, our girl is the life of the party at our training facility, chasing the big dogs, playing with the trainers and manipulating everybody (dogs and humans). Gretta will never be a big shepherd, probably no more than 55-60 pounds, due to starvation and lack of care. What our girl has done is amaze all that have been associated with her, her grace, her depth, her courage, her warmth and her loving ways just enamors all around her.

Though tiny Gretta handles the big dogs with ease, making them understand that brains trumps brawn. Our girl has great instincts, showing a strong but totally in control protective drive. Ms. Gretta gets along very well with other dogs, adult humans but is especially good with children. What our girl lacks in size she more than makes for with speed, agility and brain power. There is very little that Gretta could not be trained to do, she is almost scary smart. It probably comes through in my writing that i think she is something quite special, she had every right to hate, quit and die but she chose the opposite and excelled! Gretta handled all of our training and socialization programs with ease, reflecting a strong human desire, an affinity for training, great social skills and the heart of a lion. Our girl has great symmetry, perfect gait and a solid frame. If you are looking for a truly superior new family member, this sweetheart is a no brainer..
