ADOPTED 06-25-12 – Quincy is such a lovable little mush. her foster mom had a little girl about 7 years old come to her house the other day. She was down on the floor with Quincy and he was kissing her and all over her. This  little boy wants to be where the action is and loves to be hugged and held.

Her foster mom wanted us to add a couple little things that Quincy does. When the water bowl is empty he will pick it up, bring it out on the deck and sit with it like “Do you get it yet, I need water”!.He will also repeatedly take the same toys out of the toy bucket if I put them away very smart!!

Quincy is the cutest little pup with white blaze and awesome colors, not to mention she has cute rings around her eyes, like little glasses lol. I love being with people, following them around even if they walk away from me and getting right in their lap for some good pets and kisses. My foster mom says I have great manners, I don’t jump on the furniture and I am potty trained. I enjoy playing with and being around other dogs, right now I have lots of foster brothers and sisters to play with plus all the toys are great, especially the squeakers lol. I’m a little nervous about car rides but with time I’m sure I’ll come to enjoy them, even more if someone will sit with me in the backseat, I would love that because I really like being with my people.

Quincy Walking Around The Yard ♥♥ Quincy Playing With Skylar

I am a Sheltie mix, the sheltie would explain the lovely fluffy fur I have and the weenie dog from the long torso and short legs. Because of that they think I’m going to be a smaller dog maybe 15-20 lbs but they can’t be sure until I get older and am done growing. I enjoy bully sticks and deer antlers to chew on and healthy treats like solid gold soft treats or wellness soft treats, those are great for training. I am working on my sit and down and soon I’m going to be pro at them and begin harder stuff like stay, I’m a smart boy who wants to please his people. I’ll be sure to have my foster mom update everyone on my progress. I am looking for a forever home so if you’re interested in a handsome, well mannered boy like me who gives kisses please fill out an adoption application and make me part of your family.

PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO CHECK OUT THE SECTION BELOW

RDVG wants to provide you with as much information as we can because some of our mix breeds you might not be familiar with. The below section on “About the Breed” offers information on some of the Breed Characteristics, Children & Pets, Behavior and Personality, Temperament and more.

It is important to point out that in addition to the breed, there is an enormous variety in the way a dog acts and reacts to the world around him. In the end, your dog’s preferences and personality are as individual as you are–and if you can accept that– then you’re bound to enjoy each other.

Children & Pets

Animal Behavior Guidelines

Many children, especially very young ones, do not realize that pets are living animals and not toys. Failing to teach a child how to handle pets properly can result in suffering on the part of the pet and, in some cases, injury to the child. Taking introductions slowly will allow you to introduce family dogs and your children safely

Puppy Behavior, Growth & Development

Each stage of Puppy Growth and development is fascinating; by the time it reaches its first birthday a puppy is considered a mature, adult dog. Puppy Growth rate is fast compared to humans, just compare a puppy of 8 weeks to a baby of the same age.

One of the most common questions asked about a puppy’s growth and development rate refers to the eventual size of the puppy. How big will the puppy grow? How can you determine the adult size of a puppy? A young puppy is tiny and cute – everyone loves puppies! But will the puppy be suited to your environment? How much exercise will be required for a full grown dog? Will the puppy be a suitable pet for children? The breed of the puppy will determine the answers to these questions. A general response to the size and growth rate of a puppy and the adult size of a puppy is therefore not possible – it needs to be specific to the puppy’s breed.
