Transport Volunteers are animal lovers who want to help provide a way to transport rescue dogs to their various destinations.

Some examples are:

  • Meet incoming transports
  • Assist adopters and fosters and examine the dog
  • Review the paperwork and answer any questions or refer them to the right person
  • Take to vet appointments
  • Pull dogs from shelters and get them to the foster home
  • Take dogs to an out-of-state foster to CT’s neighboring states
  • Overnight temporary foster animals
  • Fosters homes
  • Drive them to a rescue function and pick them up at the foster home
  • Meet owner turn in applicants

 Volunteers can also:

  • monitor transport
  • scheduling
  • assist with organizing
  • assist the rescue and provide a resource for organizations to help fill the legs of transport by compiling a database of contacts
